Practice of Jeffrey T Junig MD PhD, providing medication and psychodynamic psychotherapy for adult patients across the United States and Canada. My goal is to help the chronically anxious or depressed person understand the unconscious forces behind his or her symptoms; forces that arise from genetics and from early childhood experiences. My preference is to work with a person weekly for a predefined period of time, generally 8-12 weeks, and then assess the person's progress and decide together whether additional sessions would be worthwhile. I also provide medication management paired with 30-minute appointments, since the too-common 10-minute appointments of 'modern psychiatry' are generally worthless. I avoid prescribing DEA-scheduled and addictive medication by telepsychiatry, including stimulants and benzodiazepines. Second opinions and educational sessions are also welcome.
